In addition to the obvious advantages of cantilevered construction methods, cable-stayed bridges and viaducts are among the most beautiful structures on earth. In the future, the Toronto Waterfront Viaduct will vie with the CN Tower as the most recognizable structure in the city.

Increasingly, Torontonians are becoming more vocal and passionate about the need for great design in new developments, be they cultural (ROM, OCAD, AGO, NBS/ballet school), institutional (U of T Pharmacy and Biomolecular buildings), recreational (H-2-O) or residental. Many of Canada’s and the world’s greatest architects are fashioning a new suit of clothes for the city. |
